Hello!

This blog is dedicated to our sharings about general car enthusiast life in Singapore and others, a bit of a personal memorial of our youth and what we've done, seen, experienced, enjoyed. Sadly due to how things are run here, not all cars can live a full life as they would be intended. As such, we will try to document whatever we can and archive photos of what will one day become forgottens of the past. Life is a finite experience.

Elanmi: How do i fix the seals?

Folks, please help me out here...

If anyone has a spare set of Jamie's seals, or a MG F hardtop, please do contact me.

For about 4 hours I had been trying to redo the add-on seals on the car, as something to note is that while seals for the Elan can be bought new, they are all based off the same original mold, and unfortunately, means the same leaking issue they had is still present even if you replace the seals.

Through the four hours I have worked only on the driver side, and did two ways; multiple pieces and a single piece across the car.

By the photos, currently these all are photos of using about three pieces to try and fix the original issue I had whereby using the wrong material meant that the seals would stick to the window.

One thing also is that the seals simply cannot stick on.

Pictured above are the single piece, which is still having the same issues but is mostly ironed out. But honestly, I'm plenty tired of doing this, still have the passenger side...

Also, it seems the carpeting is also loose. I really don't want to swear, and I hope this is just aged foam than actual rust. I'll check in tomorrow.

But yeah, its been rough doing only the driver's side for four hours with no finalized solution.

Again, anyone with a link or has seals or a MG F hardtop, or a modified-to-fit Elan hardtop, drop me a message. I'm still looking to go with a hardtop, although frankly it won't fix all of my issues.
