Hello!

This blog is dedicated to our sharings about general car enthusiast life in Singapore and others, a bit of a personal memorial of our youth and what we've done, seen, experienced, enjoyed. Sadly due to how things are run here, not all cars can live a full life as they would be intended. As such, we will try to document whatever we can and archive photos of what will one day become forgottens of the past. Life is a finite experience.

Dropping off Elanmi + Seal lookover

With my recent woes addressed, I've had some kind folks from the SGRetroCar group extend out their advice and help, thank you!

Came to Carros to speak with another SGRetroCar member about the current seals and what we could do to solve the seal issue. If I remember exactly, we were looking at replacing the OEM seals with those from a R107 generation Mercedes-SL, plus extending out the sew by around 2cm.

What I wrote down was as follows:
- Door realignment
- Window realignment
- New seals (Likely from a SL, driver and passenger side, top seal as well)

I'll wait for a quote to survey the total costs to do this and what may need to be sacrificed, but honestly, I never bought into the Elan for it being a convertible since the weather here is scary, so likely will I make do with a semi-permanent solution that will mean the top never goes down.

Dongfeng Box! Never seen or
heard of one before!

Hello! I recently did a writeup for this car due to its current status.

As today I am to be flying back to Penang, I'll be passing the car onto my mechanic to have them solve a couple of things.

A bag of issues I'd say, namely the convertible latch is halfway out, cigarette tray needs to be glued back, change the radiator to the Coolex radiator I bought a while back, whether or not they can change the fans (Although it is observed that they are new) or add-on another fan, plus an engine service and flush with the ROAR Motor oil bought for the car previously, plus the headlamp motor.

Well, I hope that after coming back, will Elanmi be in a better condition than it currently is. Fingers crossed. To send off the post, suppose I'll have to come back to some amount of carspotting again.
